Claude Code for designers

The agent follows one style instead of picking assets at random. The skills keep it consistent across screens.

One style per project

The Icons8 skill locks your pack choice in a json file. Screen 10 gets the exact same style as screen 1.

Previews, then vector

Test PNG previews in your app for free. When the style is set, fetch SVG with a paid plan and keep the look across screens.

Complete design states

The ux-check skill looks at empty, loading and error states, flows and forms

An icon library for Claude

What the agent gets when you add the server to your project

133 icon packs

With the Icons8 skill, searches run inside the pack you choose, locked in icons8.json

347 illustration styles

The ouch skill locks one illustration style per project in ouch.json

Free PNG previews

PNG previews are free on any account and need no MCP call at all

Server tools

Search, categories, platforms and PNG or SVG delivery. The server keeps no memory between requests.

How skills guide the design workflow

The server returns search results. Skills add the checks that keep a Claude design pass consistent.

asset-check

4 mechanical checks, from emoji standing in for icons to icon names that do not exist

ux-check

Affordance, empty, loading and error states, flows, forms and the accessibility floor

ui-polish

Alignment, radii, shadows, contrast and focus states

design-tokens

Palette, spacing, radii, type scale and dark mode, plus drift between screens

Connect to other developer clients

The same server works outside Claude Code, so you are not tied to one client

Other clients

Any client connects to https://mcp.icons8.com/mcp/ over Streamable HTTP. Codex has its own command.

IDE extensions

Cursor and Windsurf add the server through a config file

Shared limits

SVG and other paid formats are capped at 100 an hour, 1,000 a day per account, in any client
